So I broke my promise!

Last post I promised to blog again soon..... 2 weeks later I am finally here and can maybe fill you in on what's been going on with me the last 6 weeks or so.

Firstly.... the no smoking thing! Didn't last... I decided to allow myself to smoke for the weekend away with Shaney in Sydney and not smoke when I returned. Didn't happen! Those darn things are so hard to give up but I am going to reset my clock on the blog and try again next week. July 1 is my target so hopefully better luck this time.

Work has been crazy and so has the study for the assignments and exams. The date has been pushed out until mid August because some of the others weren't ready to sit as they hadn't been able to do their assignments on time. So I am going to have to hit the books AGAIN!...ARRRGHHHH

The last week or so I have been knocked around with the flu so I have had a few days off work.. (think I have driven Shaney mad). Now Shaney has got my flu....poor thing. Darn winter... can't wait for summer to come back round and lads like the one below start to appear again.

Now I am going to spend a bit of time catching up with what all of you have been up to.

Hello to everyone out there in Blogland.

I know it's been a long time since my last post but that course work sent me on was alot more full on than I thought. We had 2 big assignments that were due last Tuesday so that took up most of my time. Now it seems that most of the others didn't get theirs done in time or didnt even attempt to start it so on Tuesday the due date got pushed baack 6 weeks. One of mine was a bit of a rush job so I will work on that one and get it right.

Work has been full on at the moment and I have a big weekend coming up. So for now I will just say Hi to you all and thanks for your messages and keeping in touch.

I will be back early next week with another post.

Home Sweet Home

Well the Sydney trip is all done and dusted. I had a great time the few days Shaney spent with me down there but the rest of the time was full on. I couldn't believe how much work was crammed into 5 days.. is now time for me to hit the books and get assignments done and study for an exam again in Sydney in 4 weeks.
Over the weekend Shaney and I managed to have a couple big nights out as well as get up early and see the sights. It gave me so much joy to see him excited about it all. The plane trip.. wellt hat was another story...*giggles*.... I think it's going to be some time before I manage to get him up in the air again.
As for blogging I will do my best in between study to post some of what is going on - might be a good break from studying and trying to remember all these scientific names for bacteria that I have to learn.

Calling all Hunky Flight Attendants

The time has finally arrived. Tomorrow Shaney and I head off for Sydney. It's been so much fun watching how excited he is. It's his first real flight and he is somewhat apprehensive about taking to the air. Maybe I should try telling him that guys like the one below hang out in the clouds all the time!

I'm getting a bit excited about the trip as well. I love to travel no matter how short a trip it is. Over the years I have done a fair amount of travel and can't think of anything better than to be doing it with Shaney. All the pics in my header are photos I have taken on my travels. Maybe one day I will share some of those and some travel tales with you all.
I will be away for a week whereas Shaney is heading back on Wednesday. I have thought about doing a post to upload whilst I am away but I think I might just try to actually do a real one whilst I am away.

Well... last time I posted I mentioned the giving up the ciggies thing and that I would post again the next day with how I was going. One out of Two there!
I am still off the ciggies... 2 days and 13 hours so the little widget on my blog tells me. I did not however get to report back on Monday. I decided that it was probably best I stay away from the computer for the day as that seems to be the place I smoke the most.
It hasn't been as bad this time as the last time I tried to give up. The first day was actually pretty easy.. no grumpy Nate. The hardest part has probably been with Shaney looking for the grump in me. A few times he has had a go at me for being grumpy because I'm not smoking when I thought I wasn't being grumpy at all.... that has nearly led to having a smoke! Day 2 was tough... a lil' bit grumpy and more and more of Shaney looking for it. Today hasn't been so bad. I had a course to attend all day today so was locked up and not really able to think about it. All the candy on the tables certainly took my mind off it!
Depending on how long I can sit in this room without a craving coming along I may post again tonight. If not I hope everyone who pops in here is well. xx

D-Day

Well the time has come.... When I finish this post I will have a ciggie and wake up a non smoker hopefully.
For months I have been setting myself dates to give up but this time I really want to do it. I know it's going to be hard and I am going to be a bit of a grump. I know this because last Monday I attempted to give up. By 9.30 a.m. Tuesday I was unbearable to be around and had to leave work to come home for a ciggie. It didn't help that a major suppliers delivery turned up to the restaurant that morning over temperature and it was going to be a couple days until I could get the stock replaced. This time I can't let these things get to me.
Hopefully my darling Shaney will be able to put up with me.
I guess now that I have put this out there in the blog world there is a bit more pressure I can use on myself to give up.

At some stage tomorrow I will jump back online and let you know how I am going.

In a couple weeks time I have to spend a week in Sydney with work so I thought I would take advantage of the opportunity and spend the weekend before down there. Knowing that Shaney has quite a fear of flying all I could do was cross my fingers and hope that he would join me. For someone that loves flying and travelling as much I do it was a bit difficult to understand someones reluctance to fly. So yesterday I brought the subject up with him and after an hour or so of thinking about it he finally agreed. I am over the moon that he has decided to take the plunge and go on his first real flight.
Now all I have to do is book some accommodation, talk Shaney into the fact that flying won't be a problem so that I can book his return flight(he's thinking it might be a bus back on his own), and work out exactly what it is we will do down there.
If anyone has some suggestions of what we should do or see feel free to let me know here.

As most people in Bloggerland know... or most of those that visit my site ... my other half, Shaney has a major thing for porn star Chris Rockway.

Ever since I found out about this "fantasy" I have wondered who would be my porn star crush. To date no one has really taken my fancy (tho I must admit that Chris is kinda growing on me).

So far I have narrowed my search down to six. As you will see below my taste in porn crushes does vary a bit, but just which one would be my fave I am still to work out.

It seems I still have alot to learn about blogging yet! I thought I was doing O.K. until I saw that the picture I used as a background for my poll in yesterdays post had disappeared. Apparently that a certain image hoster didn't like the content of my pic which made my poll look downright stupid. Luckily my Shaney was able to come to the rescue and let me know what had happened.

So now I have found another place to host my pics... hence I will post one here that I thought was damn fine but someone at an unnamed site might not have!

So Shaney has outed me as being the messy one out of the two of us for all the world to see.. photographic evidence and all. Should I be trying to plead my case, argue the facts or just let it be known as the truth.
Whilst I do admit the he is the tidy one and I am the, well, not as tidy one I am glad that someone else out there was able to admit to having a messier desk than mine. I am sure there are many of us out there.. so come everyone.. back me up here and let Shaney know that I not the most untidy creature out there as he tends to think... we cant all be clean freaks - and now that I have said that I am really going to need some back up.

Now that I have that off my chest.... something to take my mind off it and relax.....

Just a Thought

It's been a couple days now since my last post. Feels like I been been flat out with no time for blogging but I look back and it seems I haven't really managed to get alot done over the past few days.

Work yesterday was quite full on after having 2 days off in a row for the first time in what seems an eternity. Then it was off to the parents for my sisters birthday. It's always nice to catch up with them and I always have a great time with my niece and nephews... they are growing up way too fast tho!

Today was spent doing the household type of stuff you hate doing on your days off but I guess it has to be done.

I'll leave you for now with the image that was the background on my old PC for quite some time... it's probably already done the rounds but I certainly don't mind revisiting it!

I must say the welcome I have received to blogging has been very nice.

Over the last couple days I have taken alot of time to read people's blogs who have welcomed me to the 'blogoshpere'. For someone totally new to blogging I am amazed at the amount of stuff that is out there. The quality of work and the dedication to the process quite outstands me.

Late yesterday afternoon I managed to break myself away from reading here and ran around with the camera a lil bit. I snapped a few pics of my cats which I have shared below and also got a few of Shaney. Somehow I dont think he liked the shots I took and managed to get me back by taking a pic of me in my daggy underwear at the ironing board. He now holds this photo on his computer under the title 'nateransom'. Somehow I dont think I will be posting the photos I took of him coz I certainly dont want the daggy Calvins making an appearance in the blog world.

On the topic of pics.... Nick who in his comment said that all new bloggers had to post an own nude pic....hmm... I agree with Shaney. You really don't want to see that. It seems that my six months with Shaney so far has not been to good for my waistline. I can say with certainty that his baking days with his mother does not help this situation - particularly the Mars Bar slice!!! For the past few weeks I have been saying that I am going to start an exercise program but somehow have not managed to set a date. Perhaps I will have to blog about my progress to ensure that the motivation/pressure will see me through.

Now I am off to try and enjoy the rest of my day off outdoors. Take care all.

The First 24 hours

So it's the night after my first ever post and I had hoped to have at least one interesting thing to say or share.... still not sure if that's going to be the case or not.

My day at work was a long one.... my boss decided to give me tomorrow off since I have been putting in huge hours whilst she's just had 4 weeks holidays.

Since getting home about all I have managed to do is pig out the goodies Shaney and his Mum made today, read the comments that had been left on my first post and get excited at watching my visitor numbers slowly turn over.

I have had a chance to look at Sues (my first ever comment!) blog Fair View. I must say she is one talented lady... if only I could draw or write anywhere near as well as she can. Wow! I managed to get all that out without even talking about the men on her blog!

For now i think it is off to the shower, a good nights sleep and back to my blog on my day off tomorrow.

Hello World

Well well well... the time has finally come for me to sit down and write a posting to my blog.
For the past few weeks my partner has been encouraging me to have a blog of my own (methinks he wanted to curb my new past time of surfing the net on our new broadband connection finding all sorts of goodies to look at!!!). I think I have driven him crazy the last couple weeks continually asking him what I would write about. I have never really been one for the written word.. numbers have always been my thing... and my few attempts at writing letters or the like have come with scathing criticism of my harsh tone when pen is put to paper. Even my most fervent attempts at lighthearted penmanship have been lost on every recipient of correspondance I have sent.
So here I sit still pondering what it is I should be writing now.
Introduce myself!! Well that seems like a pretty obvious beginning but then comes the thought - who on earth am I introducing myself to?
So... for the purpose of formailities here I go. My name is Nate. I am a gay guy living with his partner and ex-partner in the burbs of Australia. My partner is Shaney whos blog is Steppin Out Gay, hence the title of my blog. To earn a dollar I manage a restaurant which has been keeping me extremely busy of late but hopefully things will settle down there a bit in the near future. I could give away a few of what my favourite things are but I think that might be something I will have to share over time as I find stuff for me to write about here.
I guess for now my blog will be a bit of a diary of my life, my life with Shaney and the crazy things that go on around here. Over the past few weeks I have come across a few blogs that I have taken a liking to and I will share my thoughts on those also.
So for now, I am off to learn a lil' bit more about how I can get stuff on to my blog. Shaney has been a great teacher over the last few days but I think I had better try and do some of this on my own.
